Château Montelena, in the Napa Valley, chooses the Bubble Seal...
In July 2009, Château Montelena, situated in the Napa Valley, became the fourth Californian domain to choose the Prooftag solution to safeguard its most prestigious wines.
The introduction of Bubble Tags™ began on bottles of its 2007 Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. For the occasion, Prooftag developed new colours designed to match the bottles’ aesthetics. Each seal, straddling the capsule and the bottle, ensures the authentication of the bottles, while guaranteeing the integrity of the contents.
Established in 1882, this wine-growing domain is one of California’s most important. Re-launched by the Barrett family in 1972, it is famous for its exceptional soil, its Cabernet Sauvignon and its Chardonnay. Château Montelena is well-known for having won first place in a blind tasting in Paris in 1976.
In 2009, the James Beard Foundation offered the Barrett family the distinction of “Legends of Wine”, awarded only to the most demanding professionals in the industry.
