The O-Proof reader is the Bubble Tag™ control method developed for use by integrators. This reader can be integrated into a PDA or a fixed module, according to application. The O-Proof reader can check the Bubble Tag™ autonomously, through the extraction and comparison of signatures. It requires a means of communication to link to a distant system database.
Description
The O-Proof reader is a Prooftag reader with embedded intelligence which does not require the computation power of a PC.
It is available for integrators who need to develop their own security applications. It can be integrated into fixed or mobile equipment, in connection with all Windows systems allowing for access to a local or distant database.
Methods of operation
The O-Proof reader carries out an official and automatic verification. To do this, it checks the authenticity of the Bubble Tag™ and its validity in the following way:
- It captures the image of the Bubble Tag™, computes its signature and compares it to the signature stored in the database
- It checks the three-dimensions of the Bubble Tag™ being controlled.
When using the O-Proof reader, there are two possible ways of communicating with the database to check the Bubble Tag™:
- The database is integrated into the reader
- The database is distant and is interrogated at each check, by using a system equipped with a means of communication (computer, PDA, mobile phone …).
Security
Given that it operates automatically, the O-Proof reader can be integrated into security solutions, and leaves no room for human intervention during authentication. In this way, it guarantees the impartiality and traceability of the control process.
Uses
- Access control
- Validation and checking of official and administrative documents
- Logistics (customs documents, security seals, …)
- Any product sealed or authenticated with a Bubble Tag™
